Largest gem show threatens to leave Tucson if progress doesn’t start happening

It seems that Douglas Hucker, chief executive of the American Gem Trade Association, said his show, which has been held at the Tucson Convention Center since 1991, could relocate as early as February 2011.

Ken and Kirsten of Kipuka Trading are having a great year in Tucson in spite of what the Tucson Papers are reporting

We are doing both the Whole Bead and Best Bead Shows here in Tucson. Although the papers say that attendance is down sixty percent this year, the two shows have been surprisingly good. We were a bit anxious setting up because the lack of cars in larger venues is apparent. But, we are managing to pull off two good shows here, in spite of the economic climate.
